Woodyard Close (2013)
Connecting the inside and the outside.
A 1980s house with a tiny kitchen dining space has been transformed by the addition of a glass box. The original kitchen was too small to seat the family of four, let alone accommodate guests for diner. The addition of the dining space has fundamentally changed the use of the house. The transparency of the space is emphasised by exposing the original brickwork at the back of the house. There is a close connection between the garden (and city farm beyond) and the house.
